Vodafone M-PESA Agent Till
Agent Till: This is the handset that a Store Assistant uses to
perform different transactions on M-PESA. The Agent Till is created
by the M-PESA Operation Support team using the M-PESA web
functionality.
Upon creation of an Agent Till, the store Primary Assistant will
receive a Start Key on that till.
To activate an Agent Till [agent store primary assistant]
- Go to M-PESA menu using the handset menu functions
- Choose the "Activate" option
- Enter the 'Start Key', this must be the start key of the
Primary Assistant that was received via SMS when the M-PESA
Operations team activated the Primary Assistant
- Next, create a new PIN Number. This PIN number should not be
revealed to anyone else as it is the key to the Agent account by
the Primary Assistant.
- Confirm the new PIN number by entering it again
- Enter the date of birth of the Primary Assistant (ddmmyyyy).
This must be the same as the date of birth that was provided to the
M-PESA Operations team.
- You will receive an SMS confirming the activation of the
Primary Till. This SMS will contain the 'Secret Word 'for the
Primary Assistant account which you must remember as you will
require it whenever you need assistance from M-PESA Customer Care
representative. The Agent Till is now active
M-PESA Agent Till Number: A 5-digit number that is used to
uniquely identify a till, i.e. the handset used in the store. This
is the number that a customer will use when performing a cash
withdrawal.
