Vodacom Internet Tariffs

Vodacom Internet is the most cost-effective and easy-to-connect internet service available! By default, internet usage is charged per MB. To enjoy a lower charge per MB, customers may choose to buy a Cheka, Spidi or Bomba internet access plan or sign-up for a monthly recurring 24-month contract as outlined below.

Terms & Conditions

  • 1MB=1024KB, 1GB=1024MB, 2GB=2048MB.
  • Volume Based Charging: Internet / Wap access is charged at accumulated uplink and downlink volume per KB. Usage of customers on a Vodacom Internet access plan will be rated by volume usage.
  • Ensure that you disconnect any live internet session, voice call or sms before you purchase an internet access bundle. Also desist from any phone usage until your bundle has been activated.
  • 24-month contracts: Volume MB allocated as per calendar month; Unused MB in a month  may not be carried over to the next month. After consuming all MB available internet usage is charged as per out-of-volume tariff as indicated.
  • Bolt-on purchase: Available on Vodacom Prepaid and Post-paid. Customers will not be able to purchase multiple bundles. Customers will be allowed to purchase a second bundle after volume allocated in the first bundle has been consumed. Once customer consumes volume within bundle, he will be billed at out-of-volume tariff till bundle validity end-date.
  • Internet Bomba: Usage up to volume indicated is at full speed. Only after volume is consumed will speed drop - until bundle validity end-date.
  • Vodacom will not be accountable for SMS notifications not received by Ipad and other tablet users with SMS functionality limitation.

 Maximum size limit per MMS is 300KB.

Video Call available on Vodacom to Vodacom calls between 3G handsets (with Video Calling feature) under 3G coverage. 

COVERAGE

Vodacom Tanzania offers 3G with HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) coverage in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Moshi, Mwanza, Mbeya, Bukoba, Kahama, Geita, Shinyanga, Tabora, Singida, Namanga, Tanga, Dodoma, Morogoro, Makambako, Mbeya, Tunduma, Lindi, Mtwara and Masasi.
Network upgrade to 3G is an ongoing process, so please do contact Customer Care to check if your area has 3G coverage.
Vodacom Internet is also accessible across the country on a high quality EDGE/GPRS network. Video Call is exclusively available under 3G, while MMS and Internet/WAP are accessible under GPRS/EDGE. When out of 3G coverage, your internet connection moves seamlessly onto EDGE/GPRS.
