VodaFASTA ~ AIRTIME RECHARGE
VodaFASTA is an electronic airtime distribution and recharge service created by Vodacom Tanzania to enable the speedy and secure sale of prepaid airtime credit from Vodacom through its Super Dealers to various sub-distributors and vendors, and through them all ~ to the Prepaid Subscriber.
A Vodacom Super Dealer can also purchase ‘airtime funds’ from Vodacom. The Super Dealer sells this ‘airtime’ to his appointed ‘Wholesalers’.
Now, instead of transporting the ‘airtime funds’ via road, air or courier - the Super Dealer uses VodaFASTA to ‘transfer’ the amount from his own wallet into the Wholesaler’s Wallet!
A Wholesaler creates a sales level below him ~ Reseller ~ and sells airtime to him, transferring funds from his wallet to the Reseller’s wallet. A Reseller is typically a store owner who presently stocks vouchers as one of the many products in his shop.
Similarly, a Reseller can create a level below him ~ Vendor ~ and sells airtime to him via wallet to wallet transfer.
Vendor can then Recharge a Vodacom prepaid customer. A Vendor is typically a small duka / grocery or street salesman.
Super Dealer, Wholesaler, Reseller and Vendor can ALL recharge Vodacom prepaid customers directly.
Vodacom Prepaid customers can get airtime via direct recharge from a VodaFASTA distributor into their accounts. All they have to do is indicate how much airtime they want (from as little as Tsh 100 and above) and provide their number to the distributor who then credits their account directly. The customer receives an SMS confirmation from Vodacom and then pays for the airtime!
VodaFASTA ~ SMS BUNDLE RECHARGE
Launched: January 28, 2008
Just as they can recharge airtime, Vodacom Prepaid customers can now purchase 25 SMS for Tsh 1,000 or 80 SMS for Tsh 3,000 from VodaFasta vendors. The VodaFasta vendor will action purchase via the VodaFasta interactive USSD menu. Customer will receive SMS confirmation that SMS bundle has been activated onto their number. Customer will then pay the VodaFasta vendor for the bundle.
How does it work?
Super Dealers use a web-based interface.
Wholesalers and Resellers use a special 64K SIM card.
Vendors use text commands
