- How do I access CRDB SIM Banking?
In order to access CRDB SIM Banking, you need WAP/Internet access
and a wireless device with an Internet connection. Simply you will
received the CRDB SIM Banking URL -http://fe.crdb.com:8080
or http://196.45.158.16:8080 - into the inbox or browser
service inbox of your Internet-enabled wireless device and then
connect in using your CRDB SIM Banking PIN and Activation Code you
supplied.
2. Which mobile devices are supported for CRDB SIM
Banking?
You can access CRDB SIM Banking from any Internet-enabled
mobile phone (such as WAP phones), Gadget, PalmOne OS device,
Pocket PC device or RIM Blackberry device. Note: The devices must
have an Internet connection.
3. How does CRDB SIM Banking handle
Security?
CRDB SIM Banking is encrypted using the Wireless Transport Layer
Security (WTLS) protocol, which provides the highest level of
security available today. Additionally, all data that passes
between the wireless gateway, Vodacom's Servers and IFM-MOBSRV's
web servers is encrypted using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
layer.
4. Does CRDB SIM BANKING charge a fee to use Mobile
Banking?
Currently no, CRDB SIM Banking is free of charge for first six
months. However, your phone service provider may charge you a fee
for accessing the internet with your phone.
5. What CRDB SIM BANKING Online services
included?
CRDB SIM Banking includes the following Home Banking services:
- Account Summaries
- Account Transaction History
- Transfers
- Payments
- View Transactions Status
- View Transfers and Payments Histories

6. What happens if I get locked out of CRDB SIM
BANKING?
As with CRDB SIM BANKING Online, you must call our DABC to reset
your PIN. Once your PIN is reset, you must first specify your new
PIN on CRDB SIM BANKING Online via your Phone. Once your PIN is set
up on your Phone, you may use your PIN to immediately connect to
CRDB SIM BANKING Application.
7. Can I use CRDB SIM banking if I don't have a CRDB
Account?
No. You must have an Account with CRDB BANK PLC.
8. I am able to download the application of CRDB SIM
banking on my Pocket PC, but when I attempt to connect in I get an
error message.
When you attempt to gain access to a secure Web site from Windows
CE, you may receive the following error message:
"Unable to establish secure connection"
Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer may issue either of the
following error messages:
"The page you are looking for cannot be found" or "Unable to
establish secure connection"
To resolve this issue, update to the Microsoft High Encryption Pack
for Pocket PC. This add-on supports MD5 certificates with the new
hashing algorithm. For information about how to update to the
Microsoft High Encryption Pack for Pocket PC, view the following
Microsoft Web site:

Download the needed file, and then synchronize your pocket PC.
9. How do I access CRDB SIM banking on my
Palm?
First, please ensure that your PalmOne Handheld has an Internet
connection via a wireless Internet service provider (Wireless ISP).
Once you verify that you can connect to the Internet, you can
access our Wireless Banking.
10. How do I access CRDB SIM banking on my RIM
Blackberry Pager?
You must ensure that you have a browser, such as the Go.web
browser, installed on your RIM Blackberry. If you are not sure if
your RIM Blackberry has a browser installed, please check with your
service provider. Once you verify that you have a browser, you may
simply apply for the service.
- Go to options/setting, advance, and check if the default
browser is internet browser configuration.
- Then go back one step to TCP - on APN type internet, do not
enter APN User and APN Password (leave blank).
11. Why am I unable to connect in using my Blackberry
phone?
Please check the settings on your Blackberry phone to ensure it is
enabled to browse Secure/SSL sites.
12. When I attempt to go to CRDB SIM Banking, I get an
error message.
You may get the message "Access Denied: Insecure SSL Request"
When clicking on More Info, you may also receive the following
message:
"Your MDS has been configured to deny SSL requests to servers that
have certificates which are untrusted or expired. Try using Device
Side SSL which can be modified in your TLS Options. Contact your
system administrator with any questions."
If you receive these messages, change your Blackberry Options
settings as follows: Select Options, then TLS; under the TLS
Default, select Change Option to "Handheld," not "Proxy."
13. I keep getting locked out of my account when I try
and connect in on my mobile phone. Why doesn't it accept my
connect-in information?
Using your mobile phone to enter PIN .data takes a little practice.
PIN is four digits; make sure you are entering your PIN exactly as
it is set up. If your Phone is more modern, you may need to use
your phone's shift key to change the default from Alpha to number.
In addition, some phones require extra shift key presses to enter
numbers instead of letters
14. How do I know if my phone is
web-enabled?
If you have a MiniBrowser, MicroBrowser or Wireless Web on your
phone's main menu, then it is web-enabled. Contact your mobile
phone carrier to confirm that your phone is web-enabled and that
the service is activated.
15. Why am I unable to connect to the server using my
phone?
Make sure you defined the preferred Access Point Name (APN)
